Young Shipwrights Boat Race. Bristol Schools, My Future My Choice amd MV Balmoral

The winners of the Young Shipwrights Race will have made a boat that sails fsdt, goes further and stays afloat longer than the others. These sail boats are made from card and need to be well made to survive. This fun education project is run onboard Bristol's heritage coastal passenger vessel, MV Balmoral. The model boats celebrate the 'Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter', a yacht famed for its speed and ability to place pilots on ships coming up the Bristol Channel. The school workshops explore Bristol's unique tides and the trades associated with it. Winners will be announced at the end of the race and all competitors will be welcomed back onboard the MV Balmoral by the Bristol Batala Samba Drummers. Visit the MV Balmoral to find out more and get your own model-kit and a dose of heritage.
