The Longest Johns

Fresh off a record-breaking year, The Longest Johns return to Bristol Harbour Festival as the UK's most-streamed folk band of 2024. Known for their powerful harmonies and spirited sea shanties, the Bristol-born group has become a global phenomenon, performing over 150 shows across North America and Europe, including stops in the Faroe Islands. In 2025, they set sail on their most ambitious voyage yet, with debut performances in Australia and a bold new release schedule featuring three genre-expanding singles and 24 tracks across eight EPs. As they continue charting new musical waters in their 12th year together, The Longest Johns remain a force to be reckoned with on stage, online and across the seven seas.

Audiences can expect nothing less than a rousing homecoming performance packed with roaring choruses, rich four-part harmonies and infectious maritime energy. The Longest Johns are renowned for turning any crowd into a chorus of shipmates, whether you’re a die-hard folk fan or brand new to the world of sea shanties.

Their live show is a joyful celebration of community, tradition and storytelling, delivered with warmth, humour and a modern twist. From foot-stomping singalongs to stirring ballads that tug at the heartstrings, The Longest Johns bring audiences on a voyage that’s equal parts nostalgic and boldly original.
