Red Bull Up The Mast

Red Bull has revived the centuries-old Turkish tradition of Yağlı Direk, or ‘greased pole’. In 2024, the event made its UK debut in the northern waters of St Andrews, Scotland. Following a spectacular final, Graham Mutch was crowned the first UK Red Bull Up TheMast Champion.

The following year, the competition moved to the Devon seaside town of Plymouth, drawing record numbers of spectators and participants. Plymouth local Jack Plummer took victory after two tense final rounds. We can’t wait to bring the event to more locations in 2026!‍
