Pranartana School of Indian Classical Dance is a distinguished institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich traditions of Indian classical dance, Bharatanatyam. Classes are run in Stoke Gifford Bristol. Students are trained in the intricate techniques, deep spirituality, and expressive storytelling inherent to the art form. SeasonsThrough Bharatanatyam, with its rich tradition of storytelling through expressive movement, our dancers will depict the changing seasons. Winter is portrayed through crisp and sharp movements, reflecting the cold and stillness of the season. Spring is portrayed as a season of rejuvenation and hope, spring is depicted through graceful movements symbolizing blooming flowers , chirping of the birds and gentle breezes. Summer is represented through intense and sharp movements, reflecting the harshness of the sun, the fatigue and the challenges posed by the scorching heat, using dance to convey the season's impact Monsoon brings a shift in mood, often depicted through dramatic and expressive movements depicting the thunder and lightning, the harsh waves and the joy of the rainsAutumn is represented through serene and flowing movements, the colours before the shedding of the leaves Incorporating the seasons into Bharatanatyam not only showcases the versatility of the dance form but also deepens the connection between the performer and the natural world.
