Explore on your own or join one of the regular tours and meet the engineers and crew conserving the vessel in order to sail with passengers again. The ship is preserved with 1949 features and fittings. The ship has recently been in dry dock for work on the hull, propellers and sea valves to meet new regulations. Tours include the engine room, decks and the lower saloon, where there is art work from Trinidadian artist Bandele Iyapo and children from Whitehall Primary is on display that reflects the unique cultural perspectives of Bristol's transnational communities. The upper saloon offers refreshments including Balmoral's own beers and ciders and some peace from the bustle of the Festival.
