Gin Bride

Gin Bride are a Bristol based trio with an identity crisis. Not quite folk, not quite indie, not quite pop, but a healthy dash of all three. Gin Bride's set is laden with three-part harmony, the inimitable melancholy of the cello and lyrics that range from the plaintive to the acerbic. The band formed in early 2024 when songwriter/singers Joel Brisk and Liza Ryder-Smith came together through a Bristol musicians group and began to hit the open mic scene. They were joined by cellist/singer Steve Ginnis not long after and, following a splicing together of the three surnames, Gin Bride was born.2025 has seen the band play a number of festivals, including Bath's Party in the City, as well as their debut Sofar Sounds show in Bristol. More recently, they have been venturing into a more expansive sound with guest musicians from percussionists to horn players.Look out for the debut EP in the autumn!
