WorldRoots & SoulRoots Acappella are Bristol-based community vocal groups brought together by local arts charity Gathering Voices, which has been delivering inclusive community music programmes across the city since 2000.Led by musical director Hannah Klewin, the groups performances blend global vocal traditions with rich harmonies and dynamic live performance. Their repertoire draws inspiration from African, Afro-Cuban, soul, gospel and world music traditions, creating performances that are energetic, uplifting and rooted in connection, community and collective voice.WorldRoots, for young singers aged 12+, has performed annually at Glastonbury Festival since 2008 and has also appeared at WOMAD and Shambala and at private events hosted by Sting & Trudie Styler! SoulRoots, our adult women’s choir, regularly performs at community festivals, local celebrations and events across Bristol. Together, both groups bring infectious energy to performances that celebrate the joy and power of singing together.At the heart of both groups is a commitment to accessibility, inclusion and community, creating welcoming spaces where people from across Bristol can come together through music, build confidence, develop performance skills and experience the transformative power of collective singing.
