Bristol Cardboard Boat Race. Intrepid members of the public, My Future My Choice and MV Balmoral My Future My Choice

Teams come from far and wide to take part in this famous build and race competition . Boats have themes and crews dress up but deep down they want to win. There are cardboard prizes for dramatic sinking, innovation, team spirit, best dressed and of course fastest boat. Watch out for the 'Wee Waverley', a smaller version of the famous paddle steamer. Last year's fastest boat, crewed by Darius will be attempting back-to-back wins and Danny the engineer will take innovation to further extremes in his attempt to walk on water. get there early to hear the race commentator interview the competitors. This event helps raise money for school's boat-building workshops held on the heritage ship, MV Balmoral. Visit the MV Balmoral to celebrate with the competitors and find out more about how the ship is championing education and community engagement in the the Heritage Harbour.
