Black Roots

Black Roots formed in 1979. They exploded onto the Reggae scene in 1981 when John Peel, legendary DJ on BBC Radio 1, showcased their debut EP, hailing them one of the best new reggae bands in the UK. They went on to release several albums in this period including ‘Black Roots’, ‘The Frontline’ and ‘In Session’, and toured in the UK and Europe.

They perform selected shows, delivering that conscious and uncompromising message with harmonic vocals backed by a deep melodic roots reggae rhythm that makes them unique.
