The World Cup has focused all our attention on Russia this summer, now a taste of that country's dance heritage is coming to the Harbour Festival.

The Bristol Russian Ballet School & Youth Company will be giving a demonstration of the grace and power of their routines.

Their school repertoire includes Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia and many others. At the festival they'll be performing pieces from Nutcracker. (Duet , Arabian Dance, Russian Dance)    

The school offer ballet training based on Russian method for students of all ages from four years old including adult dancers. Pre-vocational training is provided to talented dancers to help them move on to full time ballet vocational schools, auditions and competitions.

You may have seen this group, who perform African contemporary dance, on Sky One's series Got to Dance. Led by expert Louis, their energetic routines and colourful costumes are a real eye-catcher.

Mundi Dance holds regular classes at the Old Fire Station in Bristol, at 7:30pm on Mondays, and at the South Bank Club, Bedminster, at 6:45pm on Thursdays, with live drummers. Come and have some fun!

A fierce and fun street and commercial choreography performance and interactive workshop to bring out Bristol's inner sass! Sublime Dance Troupe with be performing their award-winning choreography alongside teaching some of their favorite moves!

The Sublime Dance Troupe is a crew of as many as 14 adult dancers, based in the heart of Bristol. Since forming in 2016 the troupe has successfully competed in many competitions across the UK and has performed at events such as Love Saves The Day, Bristol Pride, Go Hard Or Go Home and, of course, last year's Bristol Harbour Festival!

Sublime prides itself on being a dynamic and inclusive crew that celebrates the love of dancing among adults, regardless of gender, size or prior dance experience.

Thankfully for our city, Swing Dance Bristol has been running dance events, classes and festivals in the city since 2009, creating a community that's fun, friendly and inclusive.

At this year's Harbour Festival they'll have a floor full of dancers, plus regular taster classes for complete beginners. Come and join in!

RISE Youth Dance is a Bristol based youth dance company providing citywide training, access and progression for young dancers from the ages of 8 – 19.

Aiming to build aspiration and skills for members through dance in classes, performances and teaching through rigorous training, visiting artists and relationships with partner dance organisations.

Recognised nationally for the high standard of their training with young dancers, Rise Youth Dance has been selected for U.Dance - the National Youth Dance Festival - three times, and many of its students progress to the UK's top training institutions such as Trinity Laban and The Place.

Norman 'Rubba' Stephenson heads up this energetic group who will be blessing the crowds with live drumming and two traditional African dances; The Digba from Ivory Coast and  the Sindimba From Tanzania.

Norman has 40 years experience in African dance and music and his expertise has been passed on to his students, who make up the Afidancers group. They've performed at many events in Bristol this year but the Harbour Festival is set to be a major highlight.
