Etoile Molene

Etoile-Molene.jpg

The Etoile Molène was built of wood in 1954 in Camaret. This versatile boat was initially used to fish for tuna in the Bay of Biscay and then for trawling in Ireland.

After being laid up in Douarnenez, she was abandoned and sank a few years later. She was salvaged by Bob Escoffier, who purchased and completely restored her before sailing her in the Route du Rhum solo transatlantic yacht race in 1994. She is 35 metres long with a 450 m2 sail area.  Her home port is St. Malo
