Alfresco performances from tomorrow’s stars

For full programme information, see left column.

This fantastic new area for the festival will play host to the Bristol Old Vic’s acclaimed Young Company, when 100 young performers will take to the cobbled streets to perform three specially commissioned pieces. From their work with professional artists comes a spectacle of live music, original text, interactivity and physical theatre that will amaze audiences.

Performances include: ‘The Sleep Book’, an informal portrayal of Dr Seuss’s whimsical bedtime tale, a piece of dance theatre called ‘Fallen’, which explores flight and falling in love, and ‘Run’, which poses questions into why and what makes us run.

In addition to these live performances guided tours of the Bristol Old Vic, the oldest theatre auditorium in the UK, will take place throughout the weekend.
